READ O UMMAH OF MUHAMMAD ﷺ

Seek Knowledge Until You Die
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى الَّذِيْنَن يَعَلَمُوْنَ وَ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَرُ أُوْلُوا الْأَلْبَابِ
Say are those who know equal to those who do not know? It is only men of understanding that will remember.
[39:9]
The first word of revelation, we all know, was “Read!”
Due to this foremost command, many illiterate followers of Prophet ﷺ, soon formed a scholarly nation.
We are an Ummah that read, learns, studies. When you examine the quality of our scholars, their uniqueness is unparalleled by those of other nations!
_
We find exemplary role models in history, from Abdullah Ibn Abbas’ رضي الله عنه Enthusiasm to record prophetic sayings in his youth, to Imam Bukhari’s memory containing quarter of a million narrations, and Al-Wafaa’ bin Aqeel’s handwritten encyclopaedia of 300 volumes..!
_
We aren’t taught by Jibril عليه السلام as Prophet ﷺ was, therefore our key to knowledge is within the Books.
_ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Knowledge must be sought from correct sources or else our understanding will be weak, and when comprehension is weakened, we cannot fulfil our obligations to Allah properly.
_ ⠀
And so, let it be followed up by speech & action; Young Muslims should form a habit of reading, develop a love for gaining knowledge, and re-establish a desire to become, once again, a highly educated nation elevated by the Glory of Deen that acts upon its knowledge.
Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
وَمَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَهَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ
“Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise.”
[Sahih Muslim 2699]
_
Make the Sahaba, Make the Salaf, Make the Scholars your role model, make them your teachers and learn their wisdoms.
So that you may taste the sweetness of knowledge in your short lives.
_
May Allah ﷻ guide us all and make us of those who learn and act upon what we have learnt.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ
