♥️ Remembering Allahﷻ upon performing the Acts of Worship👇

A’oodhu-Billahi-Minash-shaytanir-Rajeem.

Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Raheem.

Laa ilaaha illallah Muhammad’ur Rasoolullah.

🤲 A’oodhu billahi an akoona minal jahileen.

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ

[I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant.]

🤲 Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, Karimun, tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

[O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, Generous, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me.]

🤲 Allahumma zayyinnaa bizeenatil-eemani waj’alna hudatan muhtadeen.

اللَّهُمَّ زَيِّنَّا بِزِينَةِ الإِيمَانِ وَاجْعَلْنَا هُدَاةً مُهْتَدِينَ

[O Allah, beautify us with the adornment of faith and make us among those who guide and are rightly guided.]

💚[Al-Qur’ān 2:185] Ramaḍân is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the standard ˹to distinguish between right and wrong˺. So whoever is present this month, let them fast. But whoever is ill or on a journey, then ˹let them fast˺ an equal number of days ˹after Ramaḍân˺. Allah intends ease for you, not hardship, so that you may complete the prescribed period and (magnify/glorify) proclaim the greatness of Allah for guiding you, and perhaps you will be grateful.

♦️Allah’s statement:

وَلِتُكَبِّرُواْ اللَّهَ عَلَى مَا هَدَاكُمْ

(…and that you must magnify Allah i.e., to say Takbeer (Allahu Akbar: Allah is the Most Great) for having guided you) means: So that you remember Allah upon finishing the act of worship.

♦️This is similar to Allah’s statement:

فَإِذَا قَضَيْتُم مَّنَـسِكَكُمْ فَاذْكُرُواْ اللَّهَ كَذِكْرِكُمْ ءَابَآءَكُمْ أَوْ أَشَدَّ ذِكْرًا

(So when you have accomplished your Manasik, (rituals) remember Allah as you remember your forefathers ˹before Islam˺, or even more passionately (or with far more remembrance).) (2:200) and:

فَإِذَا قُضِيَتِ الصَّلَوةُ فَانتَشِرُواْ فِى الاٌّرْضِ وَابْتَغُواْ مِن فَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَاذْكُرُواْ اللَّهَ كَثِيراً لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

(…Then when the (Jumu`ah) Salah (prayer) is ended, you may disperse through the land, and seek the bounty of Allah (by working), and remember Allah much, that you may be successful.) (62:10) and:

فَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ – وَمِنَ الَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَـرَ السُّجُودِ

(…and glorify the praises of your Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (it’s) setting. And during a part of the night, glorify His praises, and after the prayers.) (50:39, 40)

♦️This is why the Sunnah encouraged Tasbeeh (saying Sub’hanAllah , i.e., all praise is due to Allah), Tahmeed (saying AlHamduLillah, i.e., all the thanks are due to Allah) and Takbeer (saying Allahu Akbar, i.e., Allah is the Most Great) after the compulsory prayers.

♦️Ibn `Abbas (radhiyallahu anhu) said, “We used to know that Allah’s Messenger‎ﷺ has finished the prayer by the Takbeer.”

♦️Similarly, several scholars have stated that reciting Takbeer during `Id-ul-Fitr was specified by the Ayah that states:

[It was also dispelled by Allah saying, وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا اللَّهَ عَلَى مَا هَدَاكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ((for you to proclaim His greatness for all the guidance He granted you, and so that you would be grateful to Him))].

♦️This entails that once a person completes fasting the entire month, it is prescribed for him to be grateful to Allah – the Most Exalted – due to the guidance Allah granted, facilitation He provided, and clarification He presented.

♦️It further entails proclaiming His greatness at the conclusion of the month, and part of that is saying the takbeer{*1} from the time of sighting the crescent that marks the beginning of the lunar month Shawwaal, until the end of the ‘Eid sermon.

♦️ {*1} Notes on Takbeer👇

🔹The takbeer in this context refers to proclaiming Allah’s greatness by saying “Allahu Akbar” along with other words of praise and glorification.

🔹The exact wording of this takbeer has not been authentically narrated from the Prophet‎ﷺ himself. However, there are wordings that have been authentically narrated from several of his Companions, and the following are some of them (may Allah be pleased with all companions of Prophet‎ﷺ & the narrators).

🔹Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood and others had said:

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ، وَاَللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ

“Allah is the greatest, Allaah is the greatest, none has the right to be worshipped except Allah; and Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, and all praise belongs to Allah alone.”

(See Musannaf ibn Abee Shaybah, no. 5769-5771; Masaa’il Ahmad narrated by Aboo Daawood, p. 88; al-Mughnee 2/293; Tamaam al-Minnah, p. 356).

🔹Salmaan al-Faarisee had said:

اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ مِنْ أَنْ تَكُونَ لَكَ صَاحِبَةٌ أَوْ يَكُونَ لَكَ وَلَدٌ أَوْ يَكُونَ لَكَ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ أَوْ يَكُونَ لَكَ وَلِيٍّ مِنَ الذُّلِّ، وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيرًا، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَنَا، اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنَا

“Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is greater than absolutely everything. O Allah, You are more exalted and majestic than having a spouse, having a child, having a partner who shares Your dominion, or having an assistant or protector since You have no weakness whatsoever.

Additionally, you – the person hearing this glorification – must proclaim Allah’s absolute greatness profusely. O Allah, forgive us. O Allah, have mercy upon us.”

(See Musannaf ‘Abdir-Razzaaq, no. 21505; as-Sunan al-Kubraa by al-Bayhaqee, no. 6354; Fath al-Baaree 2/462).

🔹Abdullaah ibn ‘Abbaas had said:

اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ وَأَجَلُّ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ

“Allah is greater than absolutely everything. Allah is greater than absolutely everything. Allah is the greatest and most majestic. Allah is the greatest and all praise belongs to Allah alone.”

(See Musannaf ibn Abee Shaybah, no. 5764, 5773; Irwaa’ al-Ghaleel 3/126).

🔹Abdullaah ibn ‘Abbaas had also said:

اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، [وَ]اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ وَأَجَلُّ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ عَلَى مَا هَدَانَا

“Allah is greater than absolutely everything. Allah is greater than absolutely everything. Allah is the greatest, and all praise belongs to Allah alone. Allah is the greatest and most majestic. Allah is the greatest for all the guidance that He has granted us.”

(See Salaatul-‘Eedayn by al-Mahaamilee, no. 172, 182; Irwaa’ al-Ghaleel 3/126).

Only Allāh subḥānahu wa ta’āla knows the best…

🤲 Rabbighfirli wali’waalidayya.

رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ

[My Lord! Forgive me and my parents.]

🤲 Laa Ilaha Illa Anta Sub’haanaka Innee Kuntu Minazzaalimeen.

لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

[There is no deity except You; Exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.]

🤲 Allahumma anta Rabbi laa ilaaha illa anta, Khalaqtani wa ana `Abduka, wa anaa `ala `ahdika wa wa`dika mastata`tu, A`oodhu bika min Sharri ma sana`tu, abu’u Laka bini`matika `alaiya, wa abu’u laka bidhanbi faghfir lee fa innahu laa yaghfiru adhdhunuba illaa anta.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَىَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

[O Allah! You are my Rabb. There is no true god except You. You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the favours that You have bestowed upon me, and I confess my sins. Pardon me, for none but You has the power to pardon.]

🤲 Ash’hadu an laa ilaaha illallah, wa astaghfirullah, as’alukal jannata wa a’oodhu bika minannar.

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ أَسْأَلُكَ الجَنَّةَ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ

[I testify that there is nothing worthy of worship other than Allah and I seek the forgiveness of Allah, I ask You for Paradise and take refuge in You from the Fire.]

🤲 Astaghfirullah al’Adheem alladhee laa ilaaha illa Huwal Haiyyul Qayyumu, wa atoobu ilayhi.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ الَّذِي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَىَّ الْقَيُّومَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ ‏.

[I seek the forgiveness of Allah, the Magnificent, whom there is none worthy of worship but Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting, and I turn to Him in repentance.]

🤲 Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman katheeran, wa laa yaghfirudh-dhunooba illaa anta, faghfir lee min ‘indika maghfiratan, innaka antal-Ghafoor-ur-Raheem.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي ظُلْمًا كَثِيرًا، وَلاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، فَاغْفِرْ لِي مِنْ عِنْدِكَ مَغْفِرَةً، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

[O Allah! I have wronged my soul very much (oppressed myself), and none forgives the sins but You; so please bestow Your Forgiveness upon me. No doubt, You are the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.]

🤲 Rabbana aatina fiddunya hasanatan wa’fil Aakhirati hasanatan waqina adhaban’naar.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَّفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

[Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.]

🤲 Allahumma salli wa sallim ‘alaa Nabiyyinaa Muhammadin.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَ سَلِّمْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

[O Allah, we ask for your peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad.]

🤲 Sub’haanaka Allāhumma wa bi hamdika, ash’hadu an laa ilaaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayka.

سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ

[Glorified be You, O Allāh, our Lord, I praise You. There is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent of my sins to You.]

🤲 Sub’haana rabbika rabbil ‘izzati amma yasifun wa salaamun alal mursaleen wal’hamdulillahi rabbil aalameen.

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ، وَسَلَامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِينَ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

[Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. And peace upon the messengers. And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds.]
