Man’s shields against Satan👇
A’oodhu-Billahi-Minashaitanir-Rajeem.
Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Raheem.
1️⃣ The first important shield – Ikhläs(Sincerity in one’s faith).
2️⃣ Establishing worship of Allah Alone.
3️⃣ Adhering to the main body jama’ah👇
🔹Al-Jama ‘ah is anything that conforms to the truth, even if you were holding such a belief alone – Ibn Mas’ud.
🔹Adhering to the creed of the jama ‘ah which is the faith of the first jama ‘ah of our pious predecessors, the Companions and their followers, and whoever adopted and practised their ways.
🔹To stay attached to a jama ‘ah keeps Satan away and pleases the Lord, so you have to adhere to the main body, because a wolf may easily prey on a solitary sheep straying away from the flock.
4️⃣ Observing Salat Jama’ah (Salat in congregation).
5️⃣ Adhering to the Book of Allah (the Qur’an) and the Sunnah of His Prophetﷺ.
6️⃣ Seeking help from Allah against Satan.
7️⃣ Increase pious deeds.
8️⃣ Seeking refuge in Allah[isti’adha – A’oodhu-Billahi-Minashaitanir-Rajeem
أَعـوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْـطانِ الرَّجيـم
(I seek refuge with Allah from Shaytaan the Accursed)] in the following situations:
🔹When one feels the insinuations of the devil or satanic inspirations.
🔹When reciting the Qur’an.
🔹Upon entering bathrooms.
🔹When starting Salat.
🔹During the time of Anger.
🔹When hearing the barking of a dog or the braying of a donkey.
🔹Seeking the Protection of Allah for one’s family, children and Property.
1️⃣0️⃣ Reciting Surat al-Baqara.
1️⃣1️⃣ Reciting Ayat al-Kursi.
1️⃣2️⃣ Reciting last two verses of Surat al-Baqara.
1️⃣3️⃣ Reciting Al-mu’awwidhat[Verses of Refuge from Qur’an i.e., al-Falaq(chapter.113), and An-Nās(chapter.114)].
1️⃣4️⃣ Observing the remembrance of Allahﷻ.
1️⃣5️⃣ Safeguarding one’s vision(seeing unlawful).
1️⃣6️⃣ Safeguarding one’s tongue(ways below👇):
🔹Avoiding idle talk.
🔹Safeguarding one’s tongue from superfluous (idle) talk.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from talking about falsehood and worthless subjects.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from hypocritical talk and quarrelling.
🔹Safeguarding one’s tongue from quarrelling.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from rhetorical and boastful speech.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from shameless talk.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from insulting.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from cursing.
🔹Withholding one’s tongue from abusing the dead.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from accusing the believer of polytheism.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from excessive jest.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from scorn and mockery.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from disclosing secrets.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from lying.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from backbiting.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from slander.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from reporting in a corrupt manner.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from disclosing what takes place between you and your spouse.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from singing.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from swearing by anything besides Allah.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from swearing by a religion other than Islam.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from abusing the cock.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from cursing the time.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from cursing the wind
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from cursing the fever.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from bearing false witness.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from demanding gratitude after giving charity.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from cursing oneself.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from taking a false oath.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from addressing the sinful, deviator and hypocrite as masters.
🔹Preserving the tongue from adding an associate with Allah in one’s speech.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from saying: “It has rained because of such and such a storm”.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from criticising food.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from conferring to another in secret.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from asking for lost property in the mosque.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue from seeking provisions from anyone besides Allah.
🔹Preserving one’s tongue against asking for relief from anyone besides Allah.
1️⃣7️⃣ Safeguarding the “belly” – earning what is lawful and avoiding the unlawful i.e.,
🔹The prohibition of dealing with riba(usury).
🔹The prohibition of bribery.
🔹The prohibition of accepting a price for a dog or the earnings of a prostitute.
🔹The Prohibition of consuming an orphan’s wealth.
🔹Preserving oneself from doubtful things.
🔹Preserving oneself from all types of illegal things.
🔹Preserving oneself against excessive eating(guttony).
1️⃣8️⃣ Preserving one’s private parts👇
🔹Preserving one’s private parts from adultery.
🔹Preserving one’s private parts from sodomy.
🔹Preserving one’s private parts from having sexual intercourse with animals.
🔹Guarding one’s private parts from having intercourse with the menstruating woman.
🔹Guarding one’s private parts from sihaq (lesbianism) and masturbation.
1️⃣9️⃣ Preserving one’s hand👇
🔹Preventing one’s hand from following the insinuations of the devil.
🔹Preserving one’s hand from killing a believer/muslim.
🔹Preventing one’s hand from killing oneself.
🔹Preserving one’s hand from shaking the hand of a non-mahram woman.
🔹A man should prevent his hands from wearing gold.
🔹Preventing oneself from playing chess and backgammon.
2️⃣0️⃣ Shielding one’s house by doing the following👇
🔹Remembering Allah when entering one’s house.
🔹Greeting the spouse and children.
🔹Remembering Allah when eating and drinking.
🔹Regular recitation of the Qur’an in one’s house.
🔹Purifying one’s house from the voice(sound) of Iblis[If Iblis calls out from inside a house(his presence is due to the fact that music is being played in the house), all his army of devils would gather in that house, and would cause all sorts of immoraity, grief and mischief to the people of the house; they would cause them to dispute among themselves and create an atmosphere of hatred between them. And as singing and music become frequently played in the house, the devils would take that house as a residence for themselves; therefore, you have to purify your house from singing, whether it is played from the radio, television or anything else].
🔹Purifying one’s house from bells.
🔹Purifying one’s house from crosses.
🔹Purifying one’s house from pictures and statues.
🔹Purifying one’s house from dogs.
🔹Increase the number of salat nawafil(optional prayers) in one’s house.
🔹A good word and a shining smile.
2️⃣1️⃣ Reciting du’aa while leaving home[Bismillaah, tawakkaltu ‛alal-laah, laa ḥawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ
(In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah; there is no might nor power except with Allah)].
2️⃣2️⃣ Reciting du’aa when entering masjid[A’oodhu billahil adheem wa bi waj’hi’hil kareem wa sultanihil qadeem minash-shaytanir-rajeem.
أَعوذُ باللهِ العَظيـم وَبِوَجْهِـهِ الكَرِيـم وَسُلْطـانِه القَديـم مِنَ الشّيْـطانِ الرَّجـيم
(I take refuge with Allah, The Supreme and with His Noble Face, and His eternal authority from the accursed devil)].
2️⃣3️⃣ Reciting du’aa[A‘oodhu bi kalimat Allaah at-taammaat min sharri ma khalaq.
أَعـوذُبِكَلِمـاتِ اللّهِ التّـامّـاتِ مِنْ شَـرِّ ما خَلَـق
(I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of what He has created)].
2️⃣4️⃣ Reciting du’aa[Bismillahi alladhi la yadurru ma’ ismihi shai’un fil-ardi wa-laa fil-samaa’i wa huwa al-Samee’u al-‘Aleem.
بِسـمِ اللهِ الذي لا يَضُـرُّ مَعَ اسمِـهِ شَيءٌ في الأرْضِ وَلا في السّمـاءِ وَهـوَ السّمـيعُ العَلـيم
(In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing on the earth or in the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing)].
2️⃣5️⃣ Reciting du’aa while traveling at night.
2️⃣6️⃣ Reciting du’aa while sleeping & waking up.
2️⃣7️⃣ Mentioning the name of Allah (saying bismillah) when starting any work & eating.
2️⃣8️⃣ Covering one’s yawn.
2️⃣9️⃣ The submission to the Divine Decree without any sense of failure or negligence.
3️⃣0️⃣ Adhan (the call for prayer).
3️⃣1️⃣ Wudu’ (ablution).
3️⃣2️⃣ Observing Fajr salat unties the three knots of Satan.
3️⃣3️⃣ Following acts👇
🔹Eating and drinking using one’s right hand.
🔹Taking and giving with one’s right hand.
🔹Avoid sitting on a spot between the shadow and the sun.
🔹Deliberation(Deliberation comes from Allah, but haste comes from devil).
🔹Humbleness(because pride is one of the characteristics of devil).
🔹Avoiding dissipation and waste.
3️⃣4️⃣ Avoiding being in suspicious circumstances.
3️⃣5️⃣ Dhikr(remembrance) of Allah.
🔹Know the merits of dhikr.
🔹Remembering Allah when going to bed.
🔹Remembering Allah when one wakes up in the middle of the night.
🔹Remembering Allah in time of fear.
🔹Remembering Allah when getting up in the morning.
🔹Remembering Allah when leaving one’s home.
🔹Remembering Allah when entering one’s home.
🔹Remembering Allah when entering and leaving a mosque.
🔹Remembering Allah when beginning Salat.
🔹Remembering Allah in ruku’ and sujud(bowing and prostrating in Salat).
🔹Supplication in Salat after Tashahud and before pronouncing salutation(salam).
🔹Remembering Allah after pronouncing the salutation(at the end of Salat).
🔹Remembering Allah in times of hardship and anxiety.
🔹Remembering Allah when facing the enemy.
🔹Remembering Allah in times of calamity.
🔹Remembering Allah when in debt.
🔹Remembering Allah when visiting the sick.
🔹Remembering Allah when entering a graveyard.
🔹Remembering Allah when the wind blows.
🔹Remembering Allah when hearing thunder.
🔹Remembering Allah at the sight of the new moon.
🔹Remembering Allah when setting out on a journey.
🔹Remembering Allah when using a mode of transport.

🔹Remembering Allah when eating and drinking.

🔹Remembering Allah when hearing the crowing of a cockerel, braying of a donkey, and barking of a dog.
🔹Remembering Allah when leaving a gathering.
🔹Remembering Allah when seeing afflicted people.
🔹Remembering Allah when entering a market.
🔹Remembering Allah when your means of transport fails(breaks down).
🔹Remembering Allah when seeing an early fruit.
🔹Remembering Allah when seeing something fascinating.
🔹Remembering Allah when facing a difficult issue.
