“Ijazah” or “Ijaza” (in Arabic: الإِجازَة) linguistically means “permission”, “authorization”, or “license”. In terms of Qur’an study, It is an accredited certificate that grants its holder the authority of transmitting and teaching Qur’an recitation with tajweed or Qur’an Memorization according to Ijazah type.

Moreover, It gives its owner the right & eligibility to certify others with the same authority as well. So that making an endless chain of certified Qur’an narrators.

Before any student attends the course, we evaluate him/her by a certified tutor to determine the current level of the student in the Qur’an recitation or memorization.

The tutor starts by teaching the student the meaning and purpose of “Ijazah”. Then, according to the predefined plan, the student revise the rules of recitation and will start reciting a certain portion of the Qur’an to the tutor, and the tutor will provide the necessary guidance accordingly.

To obtain Ijazah in Qur’an Recitation with Tajweed, the student must recite the whole Qur’an with Tajweed correctly from Mushaf (The Holy Qur’an Book) to the tutor.

To obtain Ijazah in Qur’an Memorization, the student must recite the whole Qur’an by heart to the tutor.

Upon successful completion of the online Ijazah course, the student will have the corresponding Ijazah certificate. This Certificate gives the student the authority to teach others and issue an Ijazah as well, in’shaa Allahu Ta’ala.
