Few hadiths on camels(may Allah have mercy on the narrators)👇
♦️Hadith:- Prophetﷺ said, “Verily the camel has been created from devils. And behind every camel is a devil.”
📚 Recorded by Saeed ibn Mansoor in his sunan with a mursal hasan chain(Sahih al’jami vol.2, p25).
♦️Hadith:- It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Mughaffal Al-Muzani said: “The Prophetﷺ said: ‘Perform prayer in the sheep’s resting places and do not perform prayer in the camels’ resting places, for they were created from the devils.”
📚 Sunan Ibn Majah 769, Grade:Hasan
♦️Hadith:- Bara’ b. Azib reported : The Messenger of Allahﷺ was asked about saying prayer at places where the camels kneel down. Heﷺ replied: ‘Do not say prayer at places where the camels kneel down because they are the places of devils. And he was asked about saying prayer in the fold of sheep. Heﷺ replied: ‘pray there because they are the places of blessing.’
📚 Sunan Abi Dawud 493, Grade:Sahih
♦️Hadith:- Narrated Al-Bara’ ibn Azib: The Messenger of Allahﷺ was asked about performing ablution after eating the flesh of the camel. Heﷺ replied: Perform ablution, after eating it. He was asked about performing ablution after eating (other)meat. Heﷺ replied: Do not perform ablution after eating it. He was asked about saying prayer in places where the camels lie down. Heﷺ replied: Do not offer prayer in places where the camels lie down. These are the places of Satan. He was asked about saying prayer in the sheepfolds. Heﷺ replied: You may offer prayer in such places; these are the places of blessing.
📚 Sunan Abi Dawud 184, similar narrative in Sahih Muslim 360a, Jami` at-Tirmidhi 81
♦️Hadith:- Narrated Hamzah ibn ‘Amr al-Aslami: The Messenger of Allahﷺ said: “On the back of every camel there is a devil, so when you ride them, mention the name of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted…”
📚 Narrated by Ahmad 2667; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in as-Silsilah as-Saheehah, 2271
Shaykh al-Islam said: The Prophetﷺ indicated that camels are of the devils, meaning – and Allah knows best – that they are of the type of the devils, because every stubborn, rebellious creature is a devil, no matter what animal it is. So the black dog is a devil, and camels are the devils of the an‘aam animals (a category that includes camels, cattle and sheep), and there are also devils among mankind… So if a person eats camel’s meat that may make him hostile and wild, and cause him to acquire some characteristics like those of Shaytaan. The Shaytaan was created from fire, and fire is only extinguished by water, so man is enjoined to do wudoo’ after eating its meat so as to stop that devilish energy and suppress it. That is because the heart and attitude of man is changed by the food that he eats.
♦️Zaqqum
Allah compares the branches of the tree of Zaqqum in Hell to the heads of the devils. Allah says,
🔹 “Is it better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. Lo! It is a tree that springs in the heart of hell. Its crop is as it were the heads of the devils.” [Al-Qur’an 37:62-65]
🔹 Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum.
Then will ye fill your insides therewith,
And drink Boiling Water on top of it:
**Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst! [Al-Qur’an 56:52-55]
Tafseer ibn kathir for above verse:
And drink the Hamim on top of it. And you will drink (that) like Al-Him!
Hamim is boiling water, while Al-Him means thirsty camels, according to Ibn Abbas, Mujahid, Said bin Jubayr and Ikrimah.
As-Suddi said, “Al-Him is a disease that strikes camels, causing them to feel thirst, and they drink until they die.”
Therefore, he said, the people of Hell, will never quench their thirst from drinking Hamim.
And the dwellers of Hell will continue to drink boiling water that is so hot that it will melt the flesh of their faces as soon as it is brought in front of their mouths. Yet they will drink that water in one gulp and it will cut all the urges out of their stomachs and take them out into the back street.
I found this info (on disease of camel) worth sharing – is this(see below👇 ) the disease of the camel mentioned(Allahu Aalam)? If so, can’t even imagine the torment to quench the thirst of dwellers there… may Allah subḥānahu wa ta’āla save us all from the tormented destination of hell fire🤲
The disease of the camel, in which the camel stops eating. Until death the camel just stares at the sun. The name of this disease is Hyam. Scientists say hyam means to swallow a snake alive.
The desert shipyard camel has to swallow a snake to get rid of the compulsive disease it’s struck with. The thirsty camel, after swallowing a poisonous snake, drinks water so fast that it seems as if a river of water and its thirst will not be quenched. Snake venom burns the stomach of a camel so much & it starts drinking water.
The tears(water that comes out of the camel’s eyes) during this state is very valuable water. This tear is called tiraq. And opium is a medicine that is made to destroy the venom of any animal. And this is the most important thing for people. For example, the tears of a camel will work as a relief for someone who is bitten by a snake or a scorpion. The person has to drink the tears of that camel to destroy that poisonous action.
Do they not ever reflect on camels—how they were ˹masterfully˺ created? [Al-Qur’an 88:17]
Only Allāh subḥānahu wa ta’āla knows the best…
Allahumma inni as’alukal Afwa wal Aafiyah wal Jannatul Firdous wa audhubika Minannar🤲
